MATTHEW DRAUGHN

grew up in Mocksville, North Carolina and attended Davie High School, graduating in 1992.  He graduated from Forsyth Technical Community College with a degree in Architectural Technology before attending the College of Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, finishing in 2000.  During college he worked as a Teaching/Research Assistant for Dr. Kingston Heath and helped with his publication of The Patina of Place: The Cultural Weathering of A New England Industrial Landscape, winner of the 2002 Abbott Lowell Cummings Prize.  After college he worked at Miller Architecture in Charlotte before moving back to the Winston-Salem area.  He worked for Edwin Bouldin Architect PA for 17 years before moving to Metropolis Architecture in 2018.
